Each year our Lodge members have to raise
thousands of dollars to
maintain the operations of our Hall. Out of this annual operating cost the vast
majority is due to municipal taxes, insurance, hydro, heating,
water, etc... Unlike some lodges or other service clubs that have 50
- 300, or sometimes close to 1,000 members, our lodge is small.
Being a Not-for-Profit Lodge, and not a business, we don't generate
any income. Instead we rely on Hall rentals, fundraisers and
contributions from other Orange Lodge members, or outside supporters
to meet our financial obligations.
Our Lodge holds fundraisers throughout the year to raise money allowing us to make donations to Charities such as the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada. We also make a yearly donation to the Royal Canadian Legion's Poppy Fund, man kettles during the Christmas season for the Salvation Army, and provide the Navy League Cadet Corps a meeting place. However, in order to continue in doing so, we have to be realistic and make sure that the bills for our Hall are paid.
Your support is greatly appreciated in helping us continue to do so. Even small contributions to the Hall help ensure that it is maintained, providing a meeting place for our members and providing the opportunity for others to join the Lodge.
